SAKK & Celgene’s “Life Grant” for Research on Pancreatic Cancer Care 2019

Pancreatic cancer remains a devastating disease associated with a poor survival prognosis and a significant impairment of the quality of life of patients and their relatives. SAKK and Celgene share a common interest in innovative research for life-changing medication and therapeutic concepts for patients with high unmet medical needs.

 

The Life Grant supports planned or ongoing research projects in pancreatic cancer care aiming to improve the quality of life of patients and their relatives.

 

Key Information about the Grant:

  • Grant is endowed with CHF 20’000.-
  • Application deadline is Septembre 30, 2019
  • Your application has to be submitted electronically on this webpage

 

You:

  • are a practicing physician, clinical researcher or professional in a patient care institution/society
  • have your primary place of research in Switzerland

 

Your Project:

  • aims to reduce the burden of pancreatic cancer for patients and/or their relatives, thereby significantly improving their quality of life
  • is directly related to patient care
  • has a research nature (e.g. database/registry research, working and patient care models, QoL tools, etc.)
  • may focus on aspect such as interdisciplinary communication/collaboration, treatment support, end-of-life support, psychological/social aspects, etc.
  • is conducted in Switzerland
  • is planned or ongoing

 

Grant Winner:

An independent jury, chaired by the SAKK president Prof. Roger von Moos, evaluates all projects and announces the grant winner at the semi-annual SAKK meeting in November 2018, where he/she will be requested to present a short exposé on the planned research. Further notifications about the winning project will be published in the Schweizer Krebsbulletin, the SAKK newsletter and on this website.
